why a walnut?

All is working according to plan – my fellow passengers are so worried about me nabbing their Tim Tams they have no idea what I am really after is ideas for my stories…

Now just why would Enchanter give everyone a walnut? Except for the obvious joke you have to be nutty to cruise with this bunch…it reminds me of one of my favorite quotes:

Life does not accommodate you, it shatters you. It is meant to, and it couldn’t do it better. Every seed destroys its container or else there would be no fruition.

    It’s because walnuts are cool.

I am steering well clear of THOSE nutcrackers!

That first paragraph.. I almost expected a ‘muahahahaha’ to follow :) ) Good cover for Cordelia, a story nicking maid.

I have been pondering this question all week but I am sure glad E gave us walnuts ‘cuz it sure makes for some easy jokes and throw away lines. LOL.

Amazing quote – very apt. Love it.

probably because Heather had that great picture and wanted to use it. Also, walnuts do make nice boats for little creatures since they float. I just wondered if they were English walnuts or black walnuts? Might make some difference in their possibilities.

Because helps us crack jokes and makes for a cracking good time, like you say, we are all nuts here!

  8. Scuse me while I choke. One night Monika and I fell about laughing over the giant nutcracker. I knew one of the wits on board would come up with this and I have to tell you, I am not surprised it was you Werepen!

no no not black walnuts–you wouldn’t be able to crack them like that, plus english walnuts would shatter in a cracker like the one above. i think someone is trying to sabotage our ship.

LOL, the walls and halls on the ship have ears, Heather! Walnuts are amazing, and I loved reading all these comments!

I’m not sure the above picture represents E’s intended usage of said walnut!

It would have to be English Walnuts, Black Walnuts are rounder than English so when they are cut in half they dont have the heart-shape in them. Besides, Black Walnut walnut shells are that colour-B-L-A-C-K.

Does this mean we’ll be having a performance of the ‘Nutcracker’ ballet sometime on the cruise. I can see the Nutshells en pointe in their opening night costumes!

Back again, just to say how much I like the quote – so apt :)

Walnuts make you work hard to get at the meat which is all the sweeter for having to do so.

Some say, “Why a walnut?” I say, “Why not?”

Meaning will come and all will be made clear if one ponders this enigma.

I, like the walnut, have been known to have an outer shell around the heart for protection. I used to sing a song to my daughter when she was a babe where I would knock on the top of my head singing “I’m a nut!” I’ve been known to make people laugh so hard they’d wee their pants and have been told I’m a nut. I’m taking this journey take get through the outer shell to the creative seed that lies within. Yep! I think the walnut is a perfect offering to the captain for this journey!

It is because the rowing motion for a coracle is the mathematical symbol for infinity. Love the quote.
